Releasing the book ‘Chitra Patha’ of four and half decades Pragathi Ashwathnarayan pictures and talented journalist Shashidhar Chitradurga script for photographs Prof Baraguru Ramachandrappa in his usual address flooded with words stated it is ‘Preraka and Roopaka’. A still photographer is neglected in the list of technicians. ‘Sthira’ stagnant is moving in its strength. This has brought honor to the ‘Kasubu’. There are many memorable moments captured in the lens of Pragathi Ashwathnarayan. Shashidhar Chitradurga a journalist from Vijaya Karnataka group writes for ‘Lava Lavike’ section has written with lot of Lava Lavike informed Prof Baraguru. The book with lovely pictures ‘Chitra Patha’ is a combination of ‘Prayoga, Parampare and Pragathi’. This is a light from the past history. For the history the learned professor Baraguru quoted the example of DD Kosambi.


Prof Baraguru referred to various pictures that he had seen for the first time and immensely appreciated the high quality of work done by Pragathi Ashwathnarayan and Shashidhara Chitradurga.


Prof Baraguru also welcomed the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy heading for ‘Pustaka Preethi’.

Pragathi Ashwathnarayan evolving studio ‘Pragathi’ in 1972 worked as still photographer for 300 films in Kannada. Pragathi has in store over 4 lakh negatives. It is 150 pages book ‘Chitra Patha’. Shashidhar Chitradurga has authored ‘Kyamara Kannalli Raj’ and actress B Jaya life sketch in the past.
